Requirements:

• 4+ years of strong Java development experience

DBS Sustaining Lead

Job Description

The TSL (Teradata Sustaining Lead) Team helps keep many of the largest commercial databases in the world up and running. The TSL performs the following functions:

• General database troubleshooting

• Performance troubleshooting and analysis

• Modify source code to fix database bugs, especially on optimizer related issues.

• Document problems and solutions verbally and in writing

• Work with global support team to work in resolving problems

• Connect remotely to customers to investigate and resolve problems

DBS Skill Set Requirement

• Knowledge of SQL and SQL experience

• Knowledge of database kernel development

• Concrete knowledge of Relational Database Concepts

• Rich programming and debugging experience in C or C++(Prefer at least 3-5 years)

• General computer troubleshooting skills in Linux and Windows

• Database Administrator Experience

• Knowledge of remote connectivity using SSH, Windows Remote Desktop.

• Ability to write simple shell scripts

• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

• Ability to write technical documentation in English

• Ability to understand and sort through large amounts of technical documentation

Hadoop Team Lead

• Design and implement Teradata Hadoop and Big Data solutions and new product features

• Research, investigate, and calibrate integrated performance and tuning opportunities between two distributed architectures (Teradata and Hadoop)

• Execute, deliver, and document products through iterative versions with good quality

• Mentor and coach engineers on the team

Requirements:

• 5+ years of strong Java and C++ programming skills

• 3+ years of proven hands-on experience with distributed data processing and architecture

• Good knowledge of Hadoop internals

• Good knowledge of database architecture

• Good written and oral communication in English and cross-group collaboration skills

• Bachelor’s degree in technology related fields or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on Hadoop map reduce, Hive, HCatalog, Sqoop internal experience a plus

• Hands-on Database kernel experience a plus

• System performance tuning experience a plus
